“We found this delightful & elegant country haven to
be uniquely different from other B&B’s in urban areas. So many outdoor relaxing pleasures abound there: horseback
riding, biking, canoeing, quiet garden strolls and all those friendly animals and birds that reminded us of childhood days
on grandma’s farm. This welcoming atmosphere made us sad to leave . . .”
. . . Among
the many wonderful accolades written by guests in the Inns' guest books, those words are similarly common. Guests write that
their stay, either in their own elegant & romantic private Carriage House Cottage-suite orthe equally
romantic "Meadowlook Private Quarters" suite of roomsin the the Victorian main house, were more
than they ever dreamed of. Equus Meadow Inn Bed & Breakfast is different from what B&B guests
expect from the usual multi-guest roomed B&Bs. They find they are welcomed as treasured individual guests
on a country estate which also happens to be in the center of town (Tampa). Guests enjoy the private country style
resort atmosphere. And its location puts them only minutes from beautiful beaches, attractions, shopping, fabulous
restaurants for all tastes and is only a ten minute drive from Tampa International Airport.
Just 2 lovely accommodations are offered: The Carriage
House Cottage-Suite is your own private lodging with a very comfortable and beautifully decorated 530
sq. ft. of living space; kingsize French-style pillow-top bed awaits. AND The Meadowlook Private Quarters in the
main house with your own private outside staircase entrance and very spacious balcony overlooking the pond & park.
An exquisite French handcarved walnut queensize bed made in 1870 awaits you.
Full breakfast is served with elegance in
the estates main house formal dining room, privately by candlelight. The grounds and park adjacent, give guests a country
inn environment as they are offered horseback riding through lovely wooded trails; bicycle riding on miles
of paved park trails; canoeing on the natural spring-fed pond; and being able to meet all of their friendly pet
birds (domestic & wild) who enjoy freedom on the Equus Meadow Estate. Another comment from guests: "Equus Meadow Inn is more than just a place to stay, it's a delightful experience we'll
long remember."
Your hosts, Sandy, Ken & Milly, enjoy offering their guests special attention
to detail in the tradition of the finest guest houses from times gone by. Pampering, not pestering is what
can be expected from your hosts. On their country estate, which they refer to as their ranch-in-the-city because
of it's location in Tampa, you'll find relaxing and tranquil country pleasures. Equus Meadow Pond has a lovely covered
dock for quiet time with a book or venturing out on the water in their canoe . . . perhaps take a swim. You're
invited to enjoy the oak porch swing of their Victorian main house. You might want to sip on your morning coffee on the verandah
or balcony while watching the ducks waddle up from the pond to commingle with the lively guinea hens and many colorful wild
birds who feel welcome at Equus Meadow.
Breakfast, which is served by candle light, is presented to you with a gourmet touch and tailored to your own personal tastes on china, silver and crystal in the formal dining room of the Victorian
main house. Alternately, you will be served breakfast on the lovely verandah overlooking Equus Meadow Pond.

Equus Meadow Pond Estate was developed to assimilate the Victorian-era incorporating
as many details as possible. Horses had been grazed on this property for decades and the name of their small lake,
named Equus Meadow Pond, has been registered with the U.S.Geographical Survey. They felt that this charming feature of nature
deserved an appropriate designation to keep its history alive. The lake provides a sanctuary for birds, fish
and other animals native to this region. The owners of Equus Meadow find great
joy in providing a happy home for all of their animals.
